Not a Friend

Writer: Cj ElmidoCj Elmido

We are not friends like you say

We were never friends on closed doors

Not friends on lonely nights

Not friends on mischievous plays

Friends don't memorize each other's shell, then strip it off

Friends don't make me ask if this is love

They don't make promises like this

They don't laugh and steal a kiss

I'll tell you what friends are

They don't keep their hearts afar

They mean when they say love, it doesn't depart

In the same way friends aren't supposed to break my heart

We must have been friends in some glitch

When it's a convenient term, easy to ditch

Nevertheless, 'tis why I can't be your friend

Nicked heart can no longer pretend
