Ballad of the Not Dancer

She was at the coming of age when she learned about dancing.

It never caught her interest.

She's immersed into aimless pits.

But it never left her mind.

Seeing how intricate and graceful these movements are.

Maybe she can, but how ambitious of her.

So she buried it's so deep, its wrath haunts her at night.

How naive of her, to not realize,

seeds of thought grow just as big as oak once buried.

Oh, it was never a good idea.

She met people, and all she can think is if they can dance.

Or if will they dance with her.

They will challenge her, test the waters.

But leave soon after they realized she's not a dancer.

Can't blame them.

Who would want to dance with someone who doesn't know the steps?

How ambitious of her.

Until she met him.

Another soul just like her.

Same passion, same dilemma.

No one wants to dance with someone oblivious.

But he will.

She will.

His hands on her hips, hers wrapped around his neck.

Turns out, dancing is the most natural thing on earth.

Like how water naturally falls to the river.

How an infant naturally calms down to a mother's lull.

She now mocked the times when she questioned

whether her body can move like that.

She can dance, anyone can.

And so she danced with him,

Once, twice, they completely lost track.

They danced until the sun takes over the skies.

Until their heart desires and their bodies slumped.

She was happy.

How very ambitious of her.

She knows she can't keep him.

She knows this will end.

She may never dance with someone again.

But she looked back all her life and smiled.

This is not a thing she'd regret.
